My eastern side window
Grants me a peep into life.
A little angel pedals away
Her trailing pup scoots fast
Damp road smells heaven with
Yellow jacaranda flowers strewn apart
An young couple’s laughter jolts me
Craning my neck to have glimpse.
A gust of wind sways tree branches
Drives away a parrot couple sitting on it
My neighbour bends to tend roses and prunes them
His incoherent crooning peppers the morning calm
A slice of life cruises past me
With a promise of returning tomorrow
My eastern side window
Grants me a peep into life
